Brochure Spotlight: Ontario Place 1999

After hearing the news that the Ontario Place rides will not reopen for the 2012 season I finally got around to scanning in my brochure and park map from Ontario Place 1999. I posted a video earlier of one of my personal favorite log flumes which will be missed. It was a very unique park so hopefully whatever happens to the property is just as unique!

Holiday World 2012 Prediction

Alright, so a few hours before the announcement and my guess is Holiday World will be building a Proslide Hydromagnetic Mammoth water coaster, which is the next version of the LIM powered waterslide and features a 6-person "Clover Wheel" tube. Paula claimed on Facebook they would be breaking a new record and giving up and old one which could be world's longest water coaster. Also, Dan Koch comment it was named after an extinct animal (Mammoth? Saber Tooth Tiger? Dinosaur?). The construction location is next to Wildebeest so I think this makes a lot of sense. The ride debuted at IAPPA 2010 convention in Orlando, as can be seen on Theme Park Review.

Wilderness Adventure Log Ride at Ontario Place

My favorite log/flume ride is the Wilderness Adventure Log Ride at Ontario Place. It's got everything you want in a log ride - thematic elements, rapids, different paced sections, great views, and a big drop at the end. I'll try to find my old map of Ontario Place and post that soon.
 You can get a good idea of the layout by checking out the Adventure Island section of the park map.
